A short selection from the last twenty-four months — across San Francisco, Marin, and the Napa Valley. Each one detailed in our Folsom Street shop before a single fastener was driven.
02 — The Craft
The shop · Folsom Street, San Francisco
Meridian is a thirty-one-year-old roofing house. We work from a single shop on Folsom Street with two field crews — eleven journeymen between them — and we take on no more than twenty-four projects in a calendar year.
Every roof is drawn, full-scale, in the shop before it leaves the bench. Every fastener pattern, every flashing detail, every seam length is set on paper, mocked up in metal, and approved by the architect of record before we touch the building.
We are a Master Elite installer for GAF and a SELECT ShingleMaster for CertainTeed — the top two percent of the trade nationwide. Our workmanship warranty runs fifty years. Most of our work never needs it.
03 — Materials
Every system on this page is detailed in our shop, mocked up full-scale, and reviewed with the architect. We don't sell materials — we build the assembly around them.
Continuous, mechanically-seamed panels rolled on site. The cleanest line in the trade — chosen for low-slope contemporary architecture.
Spec sheet→Hand-split slate from the quarries that have supplied roofs for three centuries. Graduated, random, or coursed — set by a four-person crew.
Spec sheet→Authentic terracotta and concrete profiles, often salvaged from de-roof projects across Spain and Italy and re-laid here in California.
Spec sheet→Class-A fire-rated cedar — factory pressure-treated, field-installed with stainless fasteners. WUI-compliant for every California fire zone.
Spec sheet→GAF, CertainTeed, and Malarkey designer profiles. We are Master Elite installers — the top 2% of contractors nationwide.
Spec sheet→Heat-welded single-ply membranes for low-slope contemporary homes and decks. Concealed drains and tapered insulation, sealed without a seam in sight.
Spec sheet→04 — Press & Awards
Meridian's standing-seam zinc commission above the Presidio receives the chapter's first roofing-specific honor in a decade — cited for 'flawless line and an almost furniture-grade fit.'
Forty pages of process — from custom sheet-metal brake work in Meridian's Folsom Street shop to the four-person teams that hand-set every slate.
A studio visit to the Folsom Street workshop where every Meridian project begins — full-scale mockups, brass mock-ups, and a wall of historic samples.
